After going public with my website on May 1st, many of you expressed concern about the size of the Collector. Some of you said it was too bulky, while others said it was too small to hold enough trash. I needed it to be bigger, but also smaller...which inspired the new collapsible design that is now, as of very recently, patent-pending! I know I’ve been pretty quiet these last few months, and it’s because I’ve been working hard to bring this idea to life! So thank you for your patience. The next step for me is to contact shops who can help me make prototypes in larger quantities. I plan to have most the parts 3D-printed, which should be straightforward. As for the fabric pouch - I’ll be looking for a sewing shop to help me out, because I’d really prefer not to sew any more of these by hand! Once I’m in a position to make these prototypes in larger quantities, I’ll be looking to launch a Kickstarter! I’m in need of some project funds, and I think it’s time to get these prototypes into the hands of some early adopters. I’ll continue sending updates about this, so please stay tuned for more info! Prior to launching the Kickstarter, I’ll need to form an LLC and apply for trademarks. You’ll notice that the Donations tab of the website has been updated to reflect these new fundraising goals. Lastly, I just wanted to thank you all so much for your honest feedback. It was hard at first hearing criticisms about the previous Collector design, but it allowed me to think outside the box and come up with a much-improved design! I’m so excited for what’s next, and I couldn’t have done it without your support.
