How does Kickstarter work?You can think of Kickstarter as a fundraising platform. When you “pledge” money to the campaign, you’re promised rewards in return. There are different reward tiers to choose from, as well as add-ons. If I hit my funding goal, I’ll use that money to pay for manufacturing and other business operations so that I can deliver the reward(s) that I promised to you. If I don’t hit the funding goal, you get all your money back. So basically, this works like a pre-order system, where the funding is all-or-nothing. This setup allows me to raise money before I pay my manufacturer so that I’m not putting my own personal finances at risk. Another big reason I chose Kickstarter is that it provides a common space for us to communicate with each other. I’ll post updates, and you can post questions and interact with other backers. This allows for transparency so that you can stay up to date on what’s happening with the project. If you’re having trouble and need help, please reach out!
