Dear Subscriber First Name, Happy Earth Day!!! Today’s newsletter is less of a newsletter and more of a brief update, regarding the Kickstarter. Unfortunately, I will not be launching the Kickstarter today (Earth Day, April 22nd) as I mentioned in my previous update. It was an ambitious goal to begin with, and I find that this is just taking much longer than I ever anticipated. The main bottleneck right now is manufacturing, since costs lately have been changing in unpredictable ways. This makes it difficult to nail down a price for the Kickstarter that’s both fair to you and also allows me to fundraise enough. The second main reason is that I would like to build up my email list a bit more before the launch. Thankfully I have some exciting news on that front that should give us a big boost! More on that soon. My best guess is that the Kickstarter will be launching in the next 3-4 weeks. I’ll be working with a local 3D print shop later this week to build a small batch so I can get accurate cost and time estimates for each build. In parallel, I will keep looking for other manufacturers that can offer more scalable and cost-effective options. Thanks for your patience. I promise I’m doing everything I can to get this launched as soon as possible! Despite the delays, I am still making good progress each day. I’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks. Side note — as the Kickstarter approaches, those of you who are also subscribed to the Kickstarter Notify email list may notice some significant overlap between those emails and these ones. This will likely be the case for the next few weeks, but it is only temporary. This newsletter is meant to provide general, periodic updates about CleanTrek, whereas the other email list is specific to only the Kickstarter.
